M110 Valve Niose Answer

I Have A 280se With The Bulletproof M110 Engine, The Only Drawback On This Otherwise Perfect Engine Is The Valve Niose. I Have Adjusted The Valves On This Engine After Warming The Engine Up To 110 Degrees Celsuis, I Did This By Disconecting The Electrical Fan, And Jamming The Engine Fan With A Rag.

With The Engine Really Hot I Ajusted The Inlet Valves To .08mm And The Exhaust Valves To .15mm

The Motor Now Runs So Quiet You Have To Look At The Iol Pressure To See That Its Running, On This Settings The Engine Is Smoother Than It Was With The Factory Settings, And Also Has Noticibly More Power.

I Have Driven The Car Like This For 1500miles And I Will Never Adjust Them Otherwise, The Engine Is Now Perfect!!!:d :d

The Inlet should be 0,15mm and the Exhaust 0,30mm
Setting this tighter will give more power and maybe less noise but will burn the valves.
I’m surprised that your valves are not burned after 1500mls, it will probable not take much more miles with these settings.

Sooo.... adjusted valves hot rather than cold, also tighter than specification. Please share the long term results of your experiment.:D I have an M110 in the SL, adjusted the valves to the specs. on the loose side (holdover from my air cooled Porsche days) have a minor bit of noise. Will adjust to the tight side as factory recommends next time, see if any difference other than noise.

yeah, i would stick with the factory settings.

their engineers aren't stupid.

sooner or later i would expect burnt valves.$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
