Tie Rod Question for W202 99 C230 Kompressor
1 Attachment(s)
I have a damaged left Tie Rod. The dealer says I have to change the piece from de left ball joint (or tie rod end) to the right ball joint, not only the piece I have broken. Can I change only the rod that is broken? How?
I have attached a picture of the piece Iīm talking about where the circle is where the damage is Thanks a lot for your help |
The W202 chassis tie rod comes only with the drag link assembly......You can get the end for the tie rod but NOT the tie rod.

I guess in the car there is two tie rods and two drag links assembly, that woul mean that I donīt need to buy the whole piece from one wheel to the other one?

See here ; http://www.detali.ru/cat/oem_mb2.asp?TP=1&F=202085&M=111%2E975&GA=722%2E605&GM=717%2E460&CT=F&cat=45H&SID=46&SGR=120&SGN=07 ; #56 is the drag link which comes as one part except the tie rod ends #59 which are attached at each end.

It is one piece and comes with new tie rod ends on it also. I got mine from germanstar.net and it arrived very carefully packed. It was made in Italy, I forget the brand but it worked out fine. And of course you can get one from this site also. I think on this site they call it a "Tie Rod Assembly" even though usually it is called Center Link or Drag Link.
