Ford O2 Sensor for 88 300CE, which one fits?

I was looking at the article from the Ritter/Easley site on swapping a 5.0 litre sensor (from a '90) into an MB. There's a plug that you can buy from Ford and then splice it into the old MB sensor lead to make an adaptor. The Bosch mustang sensor is half the price of the MB one:eek:
The only problem is the mustang sensor is 2 wire and the MB one (for my M103) is 3 wire.

The site talks about using A Bosch 13725 O2 sensor instead of the Mercedes-specific number. This is a 4-wire sensor. The Mustang connector mentioned in the article isn't sold at the Ford dealership anymore - it's not available. You have to splice in the new sensor to the old pigtail by cutting and soldering each time.

I'm not sure where the information lists this as a two-wire sensor, nor do I know the proper sensor for your 3-wire application.

My Bosch book calls for a part number of 13925 for the OE type and a 15735 for the Bosch generic, i.e. without the OE plug. I don't mean to ignore your original question but I don't know why you wouldn't go with the Bosch generic - they too are considerable cheaper than the OE type - and it's the exact same sensor with 60k life.

Thanks guys, I'll look into the Bosch generic one, sounds much simpler :)

These "generic" sensors arrived on the scene AFTER the Mustang article was printed. Article might then be considered obsolete.

canadian tire, $50.

Really? Lordco was $117 for the generic one and $195 for OE.

Hey Joel, Cdn Tire in Chilliwack was $102, Lordco came down to $85. Funny how their pricing system works(lordco I mean)

Go with OEM and be done with it. Why are you questioning a few dollars over some grief of converting it for some other benz tech to have to deal with it??????????????????????????????
