1990 w124 manual tranny

I am looking into buying a 300e. I found an ad describing a "1990 european model w124 with a manual transmission". I looked at some old posts and found that the standard tranny only came in models from 1986-1988. If this was a manual transmission, and it was in a european model, what are the differences between it and a US version?
