Harmonic Tone 560SEL

I just replaced the brake disk on my 88 560sel. All went well for the first 3 or so days when yesterday, I started to hear a "harmonic tone". The tone went away went I applied the brake - so it appeared. Since I had new calipers ready to install I proceeded to do that and completed last night. the "tone" is still there???? Does anyone have a clue what may be producing this tone? The disk were installed for three or more days BEFORE the tone appeared but I can't help but think the tone and the disk are related. The tone gets louder with time and less noticable the slower one travels. Thanks for considering an answer!

I re-checked the left front (where the sound appears to be coming from) and repacked and tightened the wheel bearing. I'll do the right today after work. On the way to work today, it took several miles of quiet before the "drone" began. I tried to turn the wheel to discern if it went away depending on left/right turns but could not come to any conclusions. The drone goes away with reduction of speed...so it has something to do with the moving of the vehicle. I can't believe it is related to my changing out the brake disk since I had completed the job a few days before the sound appeared - unless it took a couple of days for the potential absence of correct amount of grease to "show itself" through this noise.

Tom - I repacked the front bearings, tightened everything, and re-checked all - still loud drone. It appears it is coming from the rear...when I apply the brake it reduces slowly towards goes away, I carefully applied the parking brake while driving and the result was also drone went away. I'm pretty convinced that the issue is related to the rear - possibly the ebrake. I'm bringing it to me favorite MB indy tomorrow. I simply don't have the time. This kind of bums me out because after installing new rotors and calipers up front, the 560 has never driven better - absent this drone of course.

Which discs did you replace, front, rear or front and rear?

What does this mean?

The tone went away went I applied the brake - so it appeared.
