I've noticed that the little "fan" that is fitted in the roof, by the inner rear mirror, is buzzing. The fan is for the AC (inner temp sensor). Anyone experienced this problem? Could it be that dirt or dust has got stuck in the fan or is it common that the fan breaks down?? Is it easy to replace??

The motor runs all of the time, therefore it's subject to failure. Part number is 129-830-04-08 & US list is $70.

Thank you.. I'll look in to that!

Hello M.B. Doc, do you have a short blurb on how to get this fan replaced?

Thanks

Emilio,
You can try to clean it; it sucks up a lot of dust and can get noisy. Remove the dome light ass'y by prying it down from the rear edge. (the aspirator fan/temp sensor unit is behind the little slots on the passenger sideon the W210). I blew mine out with compressed air it got a little better but I replaced it because it annoyed me. Call Phil at Partsshop he will know what you're in need of. It plugs in and snaps on, easy 20 minute job and it will be completely silent.

Do a search on the words aspirator, cabin temp sensor, or sampler and put your car's body style (e.g. W210 for mine) for more info.

Tom, thanks for your quick reply. I created another thread before I saw your reply...but I have a W202 (1997) and I tried prying along the edges, but it looked like I was going to rip something so I have no idea what to do... Any details on the removal?

Thanks
