Help with valuing my 97 E420
Realistically, how much $ should I expect to get from the proceeds of selling my 97 E420 with 108500 miles? The vehicle is in sound condition. The black paint is in good condition with minor chips and scratches. Interior in great condition with the exception of a couple of small cracks in the dash. The car has all options I can think of minus heated seats. I know what KBB PP says but it seems as all offers have been alot lower than that...any help or advice is greatly appreciated!

Realistically, about $11-12K sounds right.

9-11k

I would imagine that location has a small part in the asking price.
Autotrader.com shows that you can expect between 9.5k-11k, as this is in the neighborhood of what dealerships are asking. Probably a little more since you would be selling it privately. It's also interesting to look up what buyers are paying for a car like yours or similar to yours on eBay. In current auctions, there are three cars that match your model and year for sale: 1 with 109k with a "Buy it now" price of $9,995 1 with 117k with a "Buy it now" price of $12.5k 1 with 78k with a "Buy it now" price of $11.9k In completed auctions, your year and model of car sold for right around 11k. So, I think between 10.5k and 11.5k would be a very realistic expectation. Best of luck in the sale! Take care, Michael |
Thanks for the help! Most offers are around 9k but they are shopping price and not car. I'll hang in there.

Valuing any Mercedes these days is fairly easy - imagine the lowest, most depressing number you can possibly think of, then take 25 percent off of that.
