Thanks, Larry... Can I get nylog at McParts?

BTW---- are copper pipes coming from the evaporator an indicator of an original evaporator? the copper is clean as a whistle..but i have no way of knowing about the evaporator.... didn't have any leaks prior to the compressor issue

I intended to do this project Tuesday....but may do my son's idler control arm/bushings instead...

wife's expy needs some attention, too... i am always last on my list

We'll see if I can get up early and turn the driveway into a garage.

Expansion Valve Removal

I had the same problem and thought this might help someone reading the post. I used a universal socket and long extension. Note that I am not talking about a universal joint and socket it must be a universal socket 10mm works like a charm.

Thanks for this. After spending 2 hours trying to get a grip on that nut, I took your advice and bought a miniature swivel socket 1/4 drive 10MM. I paid $6.95. I only removed the vacuum lines in the way. Put several 1/4" extensions together to make a reach of about 16 inches. Leaned into it to keep a bite and turned the wrench. 10 seconds! The right tool sure makes the job easier. Thanks for the tip.
