Wondering where to get lowering springs for a 1987 260e (w124) Intrax and Eibach do not show my model, can I use the ones for a 300e or is the motor weight differnce going to throw it off?

Springs of a heavier engined model can always be used on a lighter engined vehicle. I even think that there is NO difference in the lowering springs for the 260 and the 300. In europe they don't sell the springs by engine capacity, they sell the springs by number of cylinders...

The only difference I think is the 260e has a 2.6 liter six and the 300e has a 3.0 liter six, so they are both 6 cylinder models.

...that is exactly what I meant...The springs will fitt without any problem of being too stiff or too soft.

Will H&Rs for a 300E fit a 400E ??

It will definitely fit, but there is a risk that the springs will be too soft for a 400 (8-cylinder) engine...

The 400E is heavier as the 300E and will therefore need stiffer front springs. The rear springs will not matter that much, they will probably be equal.
I have mounted C200D/C220D (4-cylinder) Billstein/Eibach springs under my C250D (5-cylinder). It worked out fine and I have driven approx. 250.000km on these lowering springs by now without any problem.

It depends on the weight difference whether you can use 300E springs on a 400E...Does anyone know what difference in weight there is?

The 400E is 10% heavier as the 300E...these 10% are to be found in the front of the vehicle...

If I had a set of 300E lowering springs lying on a shelf and a 400E standing besides that shelf...I would give the springs a try to determine for myself whether they would be stiff enough or not.
When you have to buy these 300 springs first to have them installed by a shop (when you don't have the facilities yourself), I would consider buying myself some 400 lowering springs.
If you cannot change the springs yourself and the 300 springs end up being too soft, lowering your car will become rather expensive.

No other problems besides the springs being too soft which will inflect the handling of the car.
What I meant to say that trying the 300 springs are worth the effort when you can change the springs yourself (and do not have to pay other people labor). If you have to pay someone else to change the springs (because you are not able to do it yourself) it may end up being expensive when the springs ARE too soft. In that case you have to pay a second spring-change...
The only problem that may occur is that the springs are too soft and the handling of the car does not improve that much...

Wrong. Save yourself some trouble. If you want to lower/ stiffen your 400E suspension then get the springs and shocks that are designed for that application. Attempting to use 300E springs are a waste of time. :)

Or you could just lower the car using spring pads. I have mine at bump 3 front and bump 2 rear and it elimated GOBS of body roll...

I have put H&R's FOR the 400E ON my 400E. Keep in mind that these springs are CONSIDERABLY shorter. The 300E springs should lower your car fine, but if they are softer than what they need to be, you have a greater chance of tires rubbing as the car my dip too low while cornering or going over bumps. If you bring that wheel in closer to the wheel well (thats what you do when lowering), and the springs don't have the power to hold that heavy engine up, you will most likely have problems.
