85 380SE W126 Rhythmic Vibration Felt in Gas Pedal

Car has approx. 125K and runs PERFECTLY. New motor mounts, subframe mounts, trans mount, and engine shocks. However, I can feel the vibration of the engine when I take up the slack in the gas pedal, just before engaging the throttle off-idle. Sort of like when resting the pedal on the cable, it seems like it is picking up engine vibrations that aren't there. I never noticed this before. Kind of throws you off, feeling this weird vibration in your foot for a split second as you accelerate away from a light. Like I said, everything works perfectly and the idle is smooth as glass, so I'm confused. It's not related to the A/C, because it occurs with A/C on or off.

I won't worry too much until something breaks. Has anyone else out there experienced this?

First things first - you shouldn't have any slack in the gas pedal. You can adjust the slack out of the linkage completely, as long as the pivot bushings are OK. That might take care of your problem.
