2000 SLK230 hard top convertible trouble

Does anyone know if they make a special grease for the pin area on the windshield frame for the hard top convertible? After it has set in the hot sun, it doesn't want to open from that point. The qualified MB shop couldn't figure out what to do. A sales person at the dealership saw it was taking forever for it to unhook from the windshield and came over and told me to use a "never seize" on it instead of the black grease they put in there. He continued in saying that the black grease makes it stick during the summer months and he lifted the top off by pulling back on it gently.

I do a lot of top work and I always use MB sunroof grease (it's clear like vaseline) . Never had any problems. Never sieze would get everywhere-nasty mess....
