R4 compressor:Clutch AIR gap measurement
Does anyone out there in Mercedes land know the measurement for the air gap on a R4 A/C clutch? My daughters car('85 300D)compressor has excessive air gap on the clutch and sometimes won't engage.

0.5- 1.0 mm. by the book. About the thickness of an old credit card by the shady tree. ;)

Thanks... My gap sure isn't 1mm. It's more like 2.5 to 3mm. No wonder it has trouble engaging. Thanks Again!! CHris
