Acceleration Hesitation

Good'd To You All, I Have An W123 280 1980 Carb, Euro, The Problem Is That Upon Acceleration The Car Pulls Away Fine Until The Revs Hit About 4800, The The Engine Starts Hesitating Pulling Strong And Hesitating , Almost Feels Like Feul Starvation, But Is This Possible On Carb Models.

The Pionts, Plugs, Cap Are Fine I Havent Changed The Rotor Yet, And I Think That Perhaps It Could Be That The Spring Controlled Rev Limiter In The Rotor Is Malfunctioning, But The Hesitation Is Not As Abrupt As A Rev Limiter Cutting In???????

Any Views??

The "secondary" fuel barrels use a air flap that is attached to metering rods that control how much fuel is pulled thru the rear "jets". Possibly the metering rods aren't opening far enough...cam controlled.

Hesitation

Thanx M.b. Doc Come To Think Of It, This Only Started Happening After I Cleaned The Carb, Is There Any Way To Check The Operation Of The Metering Rods?
