Would really prefer a 119 V-8 if I had the choice, but the C-36 engine would be just as much fun.

A 400TE would also be awesome.

But for now, I am going to stick with my 300TE. Maybe one day it will be a 300TE turbo though.

I don't know abou tthis particular TE. The thread is a year old.

On this issue of The Star there is another 300TE, in signal red, for sale. If I didn't already have one TE I would buy it. I love red cars.

Here is the ad, including contact information:

1993 300 TE Wagon: Rare Signal Red with charcoal Mercedes-Benz Tex. 2nd owner. 193,000 highway miles. 3.2 litre engine. Euro headlights, no rust or dings. Everything works. All receipts and records with Mobil 1 used every 4-5,000 mi. This car is in beautiful condition. Photos available via e-mail. $5995. Richard Diefenbach, Danville, VT, 802-684-3378, diefenbach@kingcon.com.

Thanks, I saw that one as well. I'm just starting my search, and am trying to gauge whether I should concentrate on the pre-90s (I rather like the clean look), 90-92s with the M103 or the 93 and facelifted 94-95s with the M104.

My preference at this point is to find one in Black with Palomino interior, MBtex if I can locate one. Sadly, I have no room for 4 cars, so my 300CE (2nd owner, my close companion for 12 years!) will have to go....

That hurts...I like my "new" 300CE.

But before giving up the 300CE I'd rather give up the E320.

I too like the pre-face lift look. I have always liked the way Benz put a "radiator" in fornt of the car. The new style, with the "radiator" swallowed by the hood is not my cup of tea.

I guess I am a traditionalist or just an old fart.

I love everything about my '91 300CE....except the part where I need some additional space. Ideally, I'd opt for a straight trade, but finding like-condition would be next to impossible.

That car AFAIK is still for sale.

The owner is Dave Shimano (sp?), and he is a member of 500E.com.....

That car has lots of history. It was in either Road and Track, or Car and Driver.....

But AFAIK, its still for sale. I think you can catch Dave over at 500E.com for more details!

Thats a sweeeeeet wagon though.

Oh dear, I think I just wet myself...

I got a ride a few years ago in a W124 AMG E60 that Barry Taylor had for sale.

Man that thing sounded bad, and it had gobs of torque. That car, I'd love to own. It was the successor to the original W124 AMG Hammer sedan, which you wouldn't kick out of the garage for dripping oil

Hey, Jim, isn't it about time for you to get another Benz? You've had yours quite a while now. What WOULD you buy, if you bought another one right now?

I hear ya man.

I was this close to buying a 1999 CL500, but with the twins, I just couldn't see myself trying to squeeze them into their car seats with the two door coupe.

I think a 124 wagon is a great solution.

One of the advantages to a 1993 or newer w124 wagon is that they come from the factory with r134a refrigerant, and the a/c in my 1993 300E (3.2) blew ice cold.

Well then, the AMG hammers have really expensive parts, always break, and love fuel..... I think the only solution is to keep what you have got....

That, or put a car into storage, and give it to your kid when he becomes of age.
