Check Engine Light , 2001 E320 Wagon

The Car is driving fine, all the fluids seem fine, I filled up on regular gas?--Could that be it? I don't want to have to go to the dealer for a diagnostic (with the car running fine), any ideas? please help

After fill-up did you top it off? Did your check engine light blink a few times before it remained lit? I used to top off and get the CEL come on ... maybe too much pressure. The light would eventually go off after a few "trips".

Check to see if your gas cap is screwed on tightly .. the blinking CEL alerts you to this. If the engine is running fine, drive the car thru a few more cycles and see if the light goes out on its own.

Good Luck :D

I just got a CEL on my 2000 C280. Two easy things to first check are the gas cap and the air filter. My CEL would cycle on for a few days and then off for a few days. AutoZone and maybe Pep Boys have free tool loan so I checked out a code reader and pulled the codes. It indicated problem with the drivers side rear sensor (there are 4). While I waited for the part, the CEL continued to cycle on and off. I changed the part Sunday, light stayed on Sunday and did not come on with todays start. So hopefully the problem is solved.
