Have a question about VIN number on a 92 600SEL, I’m used to seeing numbers on all the panels like hood, finders, doors and trunk lid but this car I’m looking at don’t have any on these parts just on the door pillar and under the front windshield. Is this correct that they stop doing this after a certain year production or didn’t do it on this particular car?
Thanks in advance, Thai GI sends...

The factory anti-theft system & the LASER engraved VIN under the passenger seat made that car exempt from that VIN on every panel regulation.

On the W124, cars made after 1992 were exempt, earlier models were not. For example, my 1993 500E does not have VIN stickers on every panel, where as my 1992 190e did. Its possible that for the W140, this process was started earlier.
