what car is it?

i question if cars federalized were rejetted to begin with, so rejetting now may be unhelpful. and rejetting is a pain so you dont want to do it unless it is the right thing to do. (and maybe have to do it over again to put it back like it was).

your signature says what, 280se? if that is the car you dont have a carb.

It is a 500SE, it is a greymarket car, i removed the cat so i can have the car run cooler- which it has- and also for the power gain. I just want to know if i h ave to change the fuel mixture in order to make it run at optimimum level, since it has a more free flow exhuast system- im assuming its running to lean (?). I took it to my mechanics shop, but he had a stroke- and hes still in the hospital so i guess i have to just 'sorta tune it ' untill he gets better.

Isn't your car is fuel injected?

I never heard of a carburated 500. Therefore no rejetting is possible. If you can't tell by looking at it you really shouldn't be fooling with it. I have the same engine. You won't be able to tell any difference in power without the cat anyway, unless it was clogged.

How do you edit the subject line anyway?

what yr is this car.why do you think that removing the cat will make it run cooler?if you have an issue with cooling do you still have the small radiator with the oil cooler alongside or have you fitted the fullwidth radiator that came in the us version 380 & 500 sels?if the pipe work is done right with a double pipe cat[2inch in+2 and 2+2 out] you will have so little back pressure at 2000rpm that you will have trouble measuring it.call if you need more help.david poole european performance dallas tx.214-9567007.

Whopps well the KE system our car uses, or whatever it is called.

Yes i have the 2/2/2 system all the way to the back. I removed the cat/resonators and the car sounds very nice and i do have gain in HP. A small striaghtway where i use to hi 90 ish now i hit 95mph plus..in the same straighway. I just want to get it tuned right .
Yes i do have the samller rad with engine oil cooler. I had in changed less then 7 months ago. I had the option of getting a US rad or keeping my Euro setup to cool my engine oil. Which i decided keeping the oil cool was more importent for my engine cooling- i have made certain mods to keep the temps under 95* C under hard driving.

I'm assuming i have some type of problem, my car feels weak to about 2k rpm, and it smells like unburn gas. I do not mind the unburn gas, since i'm young still :y but i have a feeling the car is not running at optimium a/f ratio and i think once i solve this..i could gain a few more hp plus not kill my engine.
