Anybody know the background of this car?

dont know anything about the car but the chrome over the fenders makes it look cheap... like a chevy!

Must have been owned by a German pimp or perhaps one of ours bought it after it hit the states. It will never cease to amaze me how/why people trash these cars?
Just the other day a poster here was wondering about alternate parts sources for his "grey" mkt. MB. He wasn't thrilled about having to wait a week or so for a fuel pump relay(I think that's what it was). Do you want an auto whose replacements parts are in some/many cases going to take awhile to get? If that's not an issue and you dig gawdy looking MBs, go for it.

This one is a REAL gamble, the seller knows nothing about Mercedes, but could be good only for a very brave DIYer who got it for next to nothing.
Most sensible buyers would want to pass it by.

acording to mercedes data card is your average 500se 117.961 trans seems odd trhe russian site says aprox year 1990 note the transmission number 02 026992 seems incomplete

Is it my imagination or is that car sitting up higher than normal? Maybe it's the funky chrome trim above the wheels making it look that way.
