Need to check lights/key-on warning buzzer. Where is it located?

It should be behind the panel that covers the drivers-side footwell. Above your feet (if you were driving). Not too hard to locate once you get the panel off.

Getting the lower dash panel out of a R129 (or W107) 500SL involves a little more activities as removing the dash panel of a C class...
But you are right about the buzzer location...it is above/behind the lower dash panel.

On the R129 SL the buzzer is attached to the lower "A" pillar behind the dash! The passenger(right) air bag must be removed.
