What do you mean by change the distributor? The spark distributor is pretty much part of the cylinder head. You can change the distributor cap, rotor, backing plate and seal but that's about it. The fuel distributor is more complicated and typically trouble free. It takes a bunch of diagnosis to isolate the fuel distributor as a problem. Or have you done that already?

Unless you have a unique 2.6 or a 4cyl 2.3 there is no separate distributor for your engine. I don't know what they're selling you for $125.

How did you determine that there is no spark at #3?

You've replaced everything there is to replace. Maybe you got some bad parts. If there was previously no spark to #3 and replacing all the parts you replaced still provides no spark to #3, that is a very strange coincidence. Maybe there is no compression or fuel in #3 but there should be spark.

Attached pic shows how the 2.6 distributor is part of the head. There is no separate driveshaft for the distributor, the rotor is driven by the camshaft. I have to wonder how a shop could replace the rotor and cap and still fault the distributor.

Is there another shop that can check your car?

I would try the fuel side. With the engine idling, loosen the injetor fittings one at a time to see which cylinder is the culprit. Idle should get less stable when you reduce fuel to a cylinder. You can do this by pulling plug wires but there can be further indication from differences in how much fuel dribbles when you loosen the fitting.
