What about the ABS sensors at the front wheels? they get dirty and can cause the light at the dash to go on.

Check there first.

What about the sensors?

Do you suppose your WAG on this ford is better than someones elses WAG.?

jubie 08-20-2006 11:37 PM

Its not the sensers

I had then checked before , when my convertible stopped going down ,, but now once again the top isn't going down again , because the ABS kight is back on .

Do you know what a WAG is ?

I have a similar ABS light problem. It comes on and goes off at random, sometimes often and others, not. When it comes on there is an immediate and obvious drag on the engine, whether driving or sitting at idle, that goes away the instant the light goes out. Is this an alternator drag? What might the problem be?

I'll bite.

What is a WAG?

waggishly,

abs lite

cjlipps, your prob is an intriguing one but my wag would be that electric power is being compromised when your symptom occurs.i would check all power wires at battery and alt.then check all main grounds [don't forget main ground from engine to chassis at the bellhousing under the car] it sounds to me as though you are dropping voltage from 13.5 down to 8 or 9 which will drop out the ovp relay and activate your abs light[as well as drop out the fuel inj computer]and temporarily put you in limp home mode.check it out and let me know.

Damn...didn't know fords had OVPs...

cheers,
dan r.
