93 190e EGR vacumm hose ???

Hi,

The vacuum hose from the EGR valve is missing on my 93 190e 2.3. The EGR valve sits on the exhaust manifold. Where does this vacuum hose go to ??? Any ideas ?? Thanks.

The vac line should go between the EGR and the SOV in front of the engine [ next to the AIR pump SOV.]

Thanks Arthur. I'll connect that and see if my check engine light goes away.

Check the plastic line feeding the SOVs from the engine intake..that is the one that always cracks b/c it is plastic.

Hi Arthur,

There are two ports (for lack of a better term) in this valve I am looking at. One at top and one @the bottom. The one at the top is connected with a elbow hose which is connected to a plastic brown hose. The bottom port is not hooked up. Is this where the hose from EGR valve hooks up ???? This valve is right behind the thermostat housing and to the right of the water temp sensor. Is this correct. ??? Thanks very much for your help.

I just went outside and looked at mine: The top port is the one that goes to/from your EGR valve on the exhaust manifold. That brown plastic hose should go between the valve cover and the firewall, then connect to the EGR valve. I'm not sure where the bottom one goes -- I couldn't follow it under everything on the intake side of the engine. (my guess is that it goes to a vacuum source on the intake manifold.)

Thanks JP. I believe you are correct. I found a vac diagram here on the forum for a 201 and it says the same thing. I'll hook it up after I get my parts this week. Thanks again for your help
