Finally happened- first electrical glitch- dead gauges (not cars fault I do not think
Well, for the first time I had an electrical problem with the 380. I have heard of this problem time and time again on some Mercedes. Anyway, I started the car today after leaving Wal-mart. Gauges fine. It did its usual stalling problem, so I placed back in park and restarted it. NO GAUGES working. I went on over and put in gas, started again- still no gauges. I drove on home and discovered that the turn signals and brake lamps are also not operating. Dash lights are. I got home, looked at the fuse chart and saw which fuse worked those items. It appeared fine, but when I went to remove it, it disintegrated on the end. It did not look burned, but simply corroded. I do not have another fuse, so I will get some and replace. Is it possible that just simply corroded and there is not anything wrong with that circuit? The fuse looks very old and I think I have read that after awhile, they can simply fail due to corrosion.
Oh... I also discovered that the fuse for the auxillary fans is blown. Hmmm.
I just wanted to get a heads-up.
Thanks.
