Side mirror removal for a S500 W220
 

I'm having trouble on changing out my side mirror seals. I've taken out the housing, took out the spring and took out all 3 torx screws that hold the assembly up. Do I need to remove the mirror from the motor? I've also unclipped the harness but the bundled wire is about a foot long so I don't know if this is necessary to remove . Please help, I'm stuck.

The assembly probably comes out with fasteners on the inside of the door, not behind the outer cover. Not sure which side you've taken off by your description, but typically the inner door "triangle" or sometimes the entire inner door trim panel needs to come off first.
