Guys
Can someone please tell me how to change the bulbs in the fog/driving lights of my E430 . the handbook details every other lighting system except this one. I can't seem to figure out how to get them out. Do i have to replsce the entire unit. I appreciate any help you can offer. ![]() |

Under the bumper is 2 plastic fasteners, turn those to open them, you can usually do those by hand or with a coin. Then look up the hole and you'll see the wire bale OR a round twist off cap to open the back of the light housing, easy from there. OR do you mean the small round lights inboard of the headlights? I am talking about the ones down in the bumper.

Gilly, rlgyaz, I need to replace the small round light next to the main driving light on the passenger side on the front of my '99' E430. I spent a lot of time trying to get in there, with no luck. Need help!
Thanks rlgyaz. |

Light
The light next to the main bulb should have a cover over it you pull off and then a snap ring you take out with your fingers then the bulb should come out.

Front lights cover
My 1999 E430 front lights have one clear plastic cover the covers both lights. I removed the screw on top and another one to the right, next to the grill. Couldn't see anything else to remove. And of course the lights were still not freed. Anything else that I might be missing??

You don't remove any of that stuff. Behind the headlight there is a cover you remove by moving that wire bale thing, a wire retainer for the rear cover. It's hard to get to on that side because of the air cleaner, but you can do it. Just take your time. Behind the smaller inner bulb there are 2 bulbs in there, the top one is the foglight, the one you want is the lower one, that's the small light that's burned out.
