Ok here is the problem. I have a 97 c230 and every once in a while ( whenever it feels like it) it will start a hard studder and loose acceleration and power. However if you restart it it will be fine. Anyone have any idea what this could be. Is it the mass air flow sensor or something in the transmission or what? Any info would be appreciated.

Under a slight misfire an injector will be shut-off to keep from damaging the catalyst.. sounds like you are having that problem. You might have codes read EVEN if the check engine lamp doesn't come on.

If it does happen to be a miss any idea how i can go about fixing it? How can i look up the codes without going to pay a billion dollars at the dealership?
