where is my cruise control amp?
I have a 1993 300E 2.8L with a bad cruise control. I posted earlier and got some good info regarding the amplifier (probably dead) but don't know where it is located. One source says under the dash on the dr side and one says on the pass side. There is also a question of whether the car will idle without the unit attached. The question seems to revolve around whether or not my car has an electronic accelerator. Any help?

Dang I thought this was an easy one at first. I THINK this car is a 104 engine with HFM or LH injection. Do you know the answer to this? You can look on the emission label under the hood. If it IS a 104 with HFM or LH injection, NO cruise amp for you!! It's an electronic throttle and the engine management system handles the cruise, no seperate controller or actuator for the cruise.
If the car is CIS injection, then it has an actuator and amplifier. Gilly |
