W210 Tie Rod (inner)

How do you replace this part?

Is the tie rod just easily unscrewed? (after removing tie-rod end and the "Gummimanschette" boot?)

Thanks,
Tom

bump - I have a bit of play in my driver's side inner tie rod. Well, let's just say it's not the outer, and yet I feel play, so I'm guessing it's the inner.

How exactly does one unscrew it? It's under a boot, so I can't really tell...

Yes it unscrews, but you need a thin wrench. I want to say it is 36 mm?

Are you saying the size of the hex connection is 36mm? Or is that the thickness of the wrench? (I'm bad with measurements, sorry.)

Can I just use a large adjustable crescent wrench?

Also, do I have to worry about LH thread? I just want to map this all about before I tackle it. Picking up the part in a couple hours.
