S124 tailgate compatibility?
I recently dented the tailgate in my '95 wagon. The impact is low and creased the lower edge of the tailgate frame. How hard would it be to fit an early tailgate without self-closing mechanism to a late model wagon...assuming I want to retain the self-closing system? In other words, can I install the self-closing mechanism from my '95 tailgate into the early tailgate?
Thanks! |

All S124 in USA have self-closing.

Thanks, I didn't realize that. I've only looked at a few early wagons and none of them the self-closing feature.

My '88 is one year away from the earliest W124 wagon you can get and it has it.

The wagons you looked at just had the feature out of service.
