Photos of W124 OEM Auto Dimming Mirror?

Part # - B6 6 81 8602

Does it differ much from the non-dimming version?

It is almost identical to the standard mirror, only wider from front to back and with the light detection sensor on the upper right corner of the mirror.

Question auto dimming mirror?

Is the picture pf the rear view mirror that Eloit posted the direct a direct replacement auto dimming mirror for a stock rear view mirror on a 1992 300E class W124? Which model Mercedes-Benz does this come from? Is part # B6 681 8602 a Mercedes- Benz Number and is this mirror availible , as to USA cars.

Thank you for suppling this safety tip .

Other users have reported that its unavailable for order (when it was, a few years ago, it cost 170 USD). Its a stock OEM option for the W124, just fairly rare. There were two versions according to sunman.

I'm trying to find one from abroad (if its not too expensive).

Red face Mirror is available from Phil I believe

I think Phil has this mirror available ..... I just ordered and received the basic mirror from him and can't see the big advantage of the auto dimming model for the price, but if that is what you want, contact Phil at our Forum Parts operation 888-333-4642 Ben Carter

How much was the OEM non-dimming mirror from Phil?

Also, I thought there was a CLK mirror with auto-dimming feature that would bolt-in fit the W124?

Its not a perfect fit... the plastic arm won't be flush with the ceiling.

Bob Geco

The part number is listed in my M-B options catalog as to fit W124s and W126s (all models).

The auto-dimming central mirror could be ordered as a factory fitted option for facelifted W124s from 1993 to the end of production of the series. I think it became standard issue for A124 cabriolets at their last year of production in 1996.
