How to replace door handle trim on a W124?

A mechanic needed to do something on my car, and took off the rear door interior trim piece for the door latch. He put it back but it's not on tight. I'm afraid if I just push it in, I'll break a clip. How does it go back in? Straight push in, or slide from left to right, top to bottom, how does it go back in?

Take it off. Look at the plastic hooks. Any obviously broken?

You should be able to solve the problem by looking at the orientation of the hooks or prongs.
