Sound proofing
 

Ok, well I will begin to sound proof my car just to get better sound and to have less road noise. What I am looking for is directions on how to take off the door panel ( 87' 300e w/o door speakers ) and places on where to place some matting. This will be a fun project Has anybody done this already?

I've done it to my 300ce. Dude, I hate to burst your bubble, but this is not a fun project at all. It's extremely tedious, and it's not very fun to take the car apart and put it back together. But it does make a difference if you take out your seats and do the floors. The doors also make a difference. But expect to have to do some significant cleaning of the door panels since there will be 20 years of grease and dirt build-up.

I used second skin audio's damplifier pro. It's exactly the same as dynamat extreme, except considerably cheaper.

Lowe's Peel-n-stick=Poor man's dynamat. Found in the roofing department for around $14/roll.

Have you used the roofing bituthene?

I had the same idea... in fact, I have a roll of it in my garage that I bought for just this purpose. I just haven't gotten around to the job.

If anyone's installed it on their car, please share the results.

I haven't used it yet. Its not as thick as dynamat so, I suspect a couple of layers might be needed in spots to get enough mass to deaded some resonance.
A whole lot cheaper.
