would you consider a "junkyard" exhaust?
there is a nice 300e with a front end punch at my wrecker yard..the exhaust looks new (compared to mine..) any qualms about using a used exhaust?

Where are you located? Are you in the rust belt?
If it survives removal without crumbling, I don't see any reason why it can't be reused. |
the only problem is they rust from the inside.....
i took one off a 300e once.... and sold it.... it looked brand new, but you could shake the muffler and some rust wou ld come out... it probably will last another 5 years or so... it its the pipes... i say go for it... pipes seem to last a long time. |
around here its illegal for junkyard to sell cats, so try and get around it any way you can.

Installed a used exhaust system on my SDL (don't ask why), works fine. No reason not to.

I agree that looks can be deceiving; I thought my OEM muffler was noisy, I bought a new aftermarket, and removed the old one; although the old one looked very good externally except for the tailpipes out the back (a single rusted seam), that muffler was nothing more than a can of dust.
