300ce hard start/no start

For no apparent reason, the CE kicked over this morning reluctantly and died.

Follow up starts yielded the same results.

ABS light stays on Check Engine light comes on faintly while trying to feather the throttle.

I am hoping this points to the OVP.

It's something i will have to deal with tonight..

I turned the key several times and you can hear the fuel pump kick on.

thanks for any thoughts.

I would check the OVP first...

Well... i went home at lunch (rode my bicycle-- humbling)

i unplugged the ovp and plugged in my spare. Everything is back to normal and then some..

I think the OVP can slowly fail: I haven't been driving this car too much..but I noticed it starts flawlessly now...before you sometimes had to give it a second turn. Idling almost flawlessly.. in the past week i had noticed a rougher idle..and thought maybe motor mounts..

also the seat belt presenters are back... i am not sure if they have been out more than a week or two..

the OVP had the mercedes star on it...so it could have been the original. My backup is a KAE. I ordered another one this morning to make sure i have a backup.

No one should be without a spare fuel pump relay, klima relay or OVP in my opinion.

Now i get to give the car back to my wife...

P.S> the fuses were not blown on the top of the OVP... there was rattling of what sounded like a very very small pebble.... not the rattle that I would have expected....
