89 300SEL will NOT START
 

My 89 SEL had 4000.00 worth of work completed 3 months ago because it was hard to start and would cut off while driving ( had sat for 2 months). Alot was done including fuel problems.

Today it WILL NOT start again. FIRST time since above repairs. The battery is fine. I noticed that as much as I tried to start it there WAS NO SMELL OF ANY GAS?????????????????. It should have been flooded was many times as I tried. Any suggestions???????????????I hate to get ripped off again in this small town!

You didn't state in your post if the engine is cranking so I'll assume it is,First make sure threr is gasoline in the tank (last week had a car towed in 53 miles because it was out of gas) remove the air cleaner and press down gently on the air flow meter feel for resistance and listen for high pitched squeal. If thats OK you may have an ignition problem if not then probably need fuel pump relay.

It recently had news plugs, distributor,rotor wires, RELAY, ACTUATOR???????

On my way out to take out the air filter.

when you turn the key to the "run" position listen underneath in the back and see if the pumps run for a few seconds. if not, either pumps or relay is bad.
