US 380 rad fit Euro 380?

Just as it says, will the cross? I've seen some Euro gassers with oil coolers is why I ask. :)

Thanks!

i would think the gasser us spec cars would have oil coolers too. i am pretty sure all of my benzess have had them. and even if it doesnt have a cooler the rad should work i would think.

Motor oil ones?

radiator

you need to close off the oil cooler lines with plugs at the filter housing.the us radiator then fits like a charm in fact how the a/c ever stayed working without o/heating the car in texas is a mystery.the oil cooler is only required when travelling above 100mph for some considerable time[i.e. on the german autobahn].

So those radiators had both the oil cooler and ATF cooler built in?

david s poole 09-22-2006 11:50 AM

no the oil cooler sat on the side and the atf cooler was in bottom tank.the us version fills the whole space and is much larger capacity.

AH okay. Did all Euro 380s have this? Mine is a 1980.

Do you happen to know what the part number is for the Euro rad?

radiator

assuming you are talking about 126 body the small radiator is 126-500-36-03

Excellent... do ya happen to have the oil cooler hose part number too? :D

Here's a pic of the oil cooler and the rad... the rad seems quite large already.

why would you want a smaller rad? it sounds like the us version may be cheaper and bigger. bigger is always better in a rad i would think.

radiator

as i said earlier, lots of experience with these radiators in texas has taught that they need to be changed out or you will o/heat the engine and no chance of a/c working at all with 134a.in 1985 i was proud owner of 500se which i imported and with all the facilities of a shop at hand there was no way of keeping the temp down until i made the mods and fitted the us radiator.

Looking closer at the picture, it appears to have the full width radiator and the oil cooler fitted.
