fixing windshield washers w126 etc. TIP

I found that my w126's windshield washers were not working. Mechanic said nothing could be done. What duz he know! jeje!

Buy a syringe and needle. Medium size. Or similar.
Buy some CLR, 'residue solvent'.

Push the nozzle assembly forward to get it loose from hood.
It kind of pops up after it loosens and you help it from under the hood.
Open hood 90 degrees up to get clear access.
Un-grip the hose clamp and move it back away from the nozzle assembly nipple. Needle nose plier is nice.

For the w126, no need to disconnect the wires etc. Just move the hoses and wires so as to allow the assembly to jut out a bit.

Pull off the hose from the nozzle assembly nipple.

Tape off the area on the hood around the nozzle assembly. To protect the paint. Have several rags handy.

Fill syringe with CLR and begin to inject nipple. The needle can eventually go all the way in at a certain angle.
Then inject the needle into the spray heads.
Do this liberally. Don't get the stuff on your paint.
By the time you get to the second one, the first one will be ready for more injecting with CLR. The second time around you ought to see the crud flow out.
Inject the nipple end and the spray heads. Do this liberally until you see evidence of free flow liquid (CLR).
Keep the rags, towels around the nozzle assembly so that CLR does not get on your hood.
Be patient. CLR will screw up your paint.

Test and pat your self on the back.

I used a pin to dislodge the wax that had built up in mine. They are used so rarely on the SDL the wax fills in the holes. Down side of keeping the car so clean.
