Hello all thanks for the links, I think I will be better off letting a shop doing it. Love this site, lots of great help. My 1984 300Sd has just came back from the paint shop looks great I will try and do some pics soon. Thanks all for the great help. Bob:)

Why not take the assemblies loose and taking those to a shop for the bearing replacement? It will save a lot of money on the job, but you'll have to have a place to keep the car while the parts are out for service.
