190e 2.3l gas engine
 
do 1986 and 1987 engines 2.3l have a vacum advance on the distrubters i just bought a 1986 2.3l motor and it has no vacum hookup on the ditrubter should it??

The 1985-86 engines use a regular distributor with a vacuum advance.

The 1987 & later 2.3 have crank fired ignition systems & the distributor is just for passing the spark to the correct spark plug.

i got that fixed now it starts and backfires runs rough till it runs awhile then it seems ok could this be the timing is off ..i set it by ear think timing light and correct set would fix this problem
