92 w124 help to remove windshield trim

Hi, I need some advise on removing the windshield trim in order to re-seal the glass due to water leaks.

The CD states to "pull water deflectors, left and right out of clips" etc.

I would like to hear from anyone who has done this in order to understand which direction to pry or apply force to safely remove the trim without damaging the clips or anything else.

Thanks in advance,
Acky

You just put your fingers between the glass and the trim and pull straight away from the glass. FWIW,,, I seriously doubt you will be able to seal a leak successfully without pulling the windshield out, cleaning all the old sealant off, and uretheneing it back in. JMHO.

Thank you for the info. I went out to pull it off but was worried cause the lower bottom of the trim is under the fender. As I pulled up, the trim bent as it snapped up from under the top edge of the fender but was not damaged at all.

If I were to do this again I would protect the trim and fender with a cloth.

About the success rate of re-sealing to stop a leak...the sealant was $6.00 and I thought It was worth a try....the car has been somewhat of a money pit lately.

Thanks again for the info, take care,
Acky
