300E Front End grinding whining noise
Hello,
I have for about 3 months had a front end grinding/whining noise in my W124 300E (1986, 121k miles). Starts out deep and changes to whine as speed increases. Is speed related. Modulation of throttle and shifting gears as well as brakes do not change sound. Sound does get louder when turning left. Tires just changed to snows so it’s not that. Brakes inspected same time, and manually rotated discs while car was on jacks, no noises then either. Any ideas? Thanks!

Wheel Bearing. With the wheel still on, jack up the said side. Grasp the tire @ 12 and 6 o'clock. Push in out out. If you can feel ANY play, it's wheel bearing time.
