A funny thing happened on my way home

I drive a E class 300TD (1999) on my way home I flipped the indicator arm, only to find that nothing happened. I tried it in both directions and still nothing. So out of interest I tried the windscreen wipers (on the same arm) and that too wasn't working, however the headlamp flash (still on the same arm) was ok. So I pulled over and turned off the engine. Restarted the engine and everything was now working fine. I continued home with no further problems. Should I get this checked out or was it just a glitch? I have had other odd things in the past, like a warning message appearing that says "display system error" which was also cured by turning off and restarting.

i get the same thing with my radio from time to time.... go figure
