Aux Fan Question - 2000 E320 4Matic Wagon

Stupid question time:

I just went to look at this car for my wife. When I popped the hood I noticed that there is no cooling fan attached directly to the motor, like on my M104 equipped C280. Further, the only fan visible was a single electric fan on the back (engine) side of the radiator. My C280 has two auxilliary electric fans on the front (bumper) side of the radiator. I accustomed to seeing more fans, so this has me a little concerned.

Is this single electric fan set up correct for the 3.2L V6? Or is this particular car missing some fans somewhere?

That is correct..engine cooling fans are taking over..
Started with the 1997 C230..and now most MB are that way.
