560sel new chain how to check marks
put a new timming chain and now i want to make sure i am there. if i line up the passenger marks it reads on the 2 pass the zero is this 2degrees?

Two tick marks past the OT mark is 2-degrees. If you see a '2' that's probably the 20-degree mark.

if it was 20 degrees would it still turn? if so how do fix it?

It will probably turn with the cams at 20-degrees ATDC. If you're not sure, pull the driver side valve cover and align those marks against the crank. See if the you can get the left and right cams aligned at the same time.

i did the right and left ones are lined up and it is on the 2 to the left of the zero. so how would i fix it?

If it's 2 ticks left of OT then you're fine. If it's 20 ticks (at the '20' mark) then I'm not sure what you should do next.

ok so i just went outside and looked it is on the 2 but looking aT IT now i see where it could be 20. it is to the left of zero not 2 ticks i guess you would call it 4 ticks so how screwed am i.

I don't know how that could happen if you rolled in the chain without letting it slip. It can't have slipped if both cams are aligned. Send a private message to MikeTangas since he knows a lot about these chains.
