I cant mess with this rear end anymore. I put new bearings in it recently and didnt get the backlash right. (put a junk yard one in last year, failed like the original one)

I need to simplify my life. Where can I get a professionally rebuilt diff, without going to the dealer? This is the last time I'm r&r -ing this thing.

Any thoughts?

I can understand how you feel. However instead of spending lots of money at you local MB dealer, why don't you try Potomac German Auto. I think their web site is http://www.pgauto.com Give them a call. Their prices are great and all parts come with 1yr warranty if not more. I've purchased a lot of parts from them, and never had a problem.

Good luck.

Used diff...F/S

Patrick,
I can understand your frustrations as irritating and never-ending. When I built my 190 up I replaced the differential with one stronger and with a limited slip and used one from a 92 Corvette ZR-1. The original diff from my 1984 190/2.2 diesel is lying around in my shop looking for a new home. I don't know what your current ratio is but mine is a 3.42 and probably a little lower than yours which would help low end performance. It's for sale for $100/ FOB from Charlotte, NC.
