need help on the C230 Coupe

Hi guys:

i am new here!

i have a 2002 c230 coupe.

on the display. there's a light sensor visit workshop!

can anyone tell me what to do?

anyone has this problem before?

and also. today i drove the car and the ESP came on too. and after i shut down the car and turned it on again it went away!

everytime i start the car. the display becomes really dark and the i have to turn the key like few secs to start it!

the car is auto. but sometimes when i drive it on the freeway. it doesn't shift itself. the rpm was really high. like 4-5 when i was driving 50 miles or so! any idea on what's wrong with it?

my car is out of warranty now. do i buy extened warranty or do you guys have any suggestions?

Thanks for the help. i really appreciate!!!!

Thanks for the help!!!!

One of your bulbs is burned out.
Check ALL of them ( headlights, high & low beams, turnsignals, brakelights, licenseplate lights, foglights, etc. ).
When you find & replace the defective bulb, the warninglight on the dash will go out.

I had that on my 2002 C240 it wasn't a bulb but a sensor for the headlights as I recall, I need to chk the dealership work order, which I can do tomorrow.

But I would chk to make sure no bulbs are burnt out first like advised above.
I think your car actually tells you which bulb is burnt out on the dash display when it is a bad bulb.

play around with this site to get diagrams for your car http://www.detali.ru/cat/oem_mb0.asp?TP=1

and I'll chk my work order for the part#

also a W203 site is www.mbklasse.com
I don't think it will have details for your problem but it may

That is usually a indicator that the light sensor may have failed.
It is clipped to the windshield just in front of your rear-view mirror.
Behind the plastic cover.
Was you windshield replaced recently? Glass guys can be hard on them.

Think the dealer is expensive? Do you know how much it costs to train a dealer tech? Or buy the required MB special tools to have on hand?
