Is it worth the bother to carry a fire extinuguisher in the car?
If yes, what kind is best? A Halon or something else? Price, location to buy and place to mount (on the 126 in this case?)
Worth it to go and look for the OEM 126 one? Or just go to Pep Boys, Autozone or Napa?

Tell us what you think after your first car fire.

Maybe for good samaritan purposes. If my car is burning, I'm gonna get as far away from it as I can.

Ask your local FD what they think.

A small DRY CHEMICAL fire extinguisher (not CO2) is a VERY good idea. Like others said, wait until your first car fire! A blown tranny cooler line spewing fluid on a hot exhaust manifold produces a violent fire

Let it burn; it's insured and I'll get another one.

A five pound BC extiguisher in the trunk should be enough protection. I have a ten in my truck box.
