E320 slow to start?

Hi
I have a 95 E320. lately for the past 2 months it has been slow to start a few times.
When I pump the gas and hold the pedal it will start OK?.
Normally it starts without this manouvers
anyone knows what the problem is?. any suggestions what it could be?.
thanks

Nick

You could be loosing fuelpressure on shut-down.
May want to have this checked by someone with the appropriate gauges and know-how. ;)
I can't see where pumping the gaspedal ( on a fuel injected engine ) would help much.

There was also a bulletin a LONG time ago suggesting that if the owner is using premium gas, to try mid-grade.

I recently went through the same problem. It got progressively worse and finally was happening all the time.

I replaced the Fuel Pressure Regulator. Took 5 minutes. Problem fixed.

I think I am experiencing the same thing.
When the engine is cold it's very hard to roll like it is so heavy, very slow response on gas pedal but when on speed problem's gone
Is changing fuel pressure regulator a DIY, how much the unit cost
Thanks

Anyone suggest checking battery...

Check battery, maybe time to replace. The battery maybe weak and on its way out.

Change fuel grade to mid or fuel regulator sound like easy tries. I thought I read in the archives something having to do with fuel injectors?

I am having a similar problem w/my 95 E320 / 132K miles... cold it starts with no problem.... if I have been driving around and try to start it when hot, I have to give it some gas , which is odd since a fuel injection car is not like a carb car...but it does start easier, with less cranking over (cranking over is normal not slow /battery)....

I know the problem is easily fixed... drive to local shop, they'll fix it, and it will be about $300-$400  ... LOL
