190E Electric Window Problems

I have a EURO 190E 16V, but the window operation should be the same as any other 190E. I was in an accident a few years ago and I had to replace the passenger side rear door. Recently it pretty much stopped working all together, but I was not really concerned at all because it was stuck in the up position and I never use the windows (sun roof is much better). Anyway, recently someone got in my car and hit the button and the window actually went down, however, it only goes up to about 2 inches away from the top. Today I took apart the entire mechanism. Its the one that has a cable (actually two cables, but you can't see that unless you take it all the way apart) that winds the window up and down.

After taking it completely apart (because I figured that it slipped a gear or slipped on the cord, not realizing that that was not actually possible) I checked to make see if the part the holds the window goes to the top of the rail, and it does. So I put it all back in and tested it without a window, but in the door, and it worked fine, going all the way up. Then I put the window back in and tried it and it still stops in the same place. I tried to look at how high the lift was getting, and it looked and felt like it was at the top, but its extremely hard to see. So I figure its jammed somehow, except I have no idea where, anyone have any ideas?

Thanks, Jim
