SL600 Diagnostic Proceedure, Innova Model 3110

Hello

I have an SL600 that was in an accident, I am trying to use the engine for another car but I want to get it running in the current vehical first. It does run and appears to run reasonably well, except sometimes a little rougher that I would have expected this engine to run. The car is not road worthy so any performance type of testing is not possible but it does go up and down the driveway OK. With the engine running there is no check engie light on, but the ABS and EPC lights are always on.

So far I have connected an Innova Model 3110 CanOBD2 code reader. I get no codes but the scanner indicates that only 3 of the 9 tests were complete. The reader has succesfully completed the following tests.

CCM, Comprehensive Component Monitor, which checks the integrity of all signals to the computer.

MIS, Misfire Monitor, Which checks for misfires.

FUE, Fuel System Monitor, Which checks for fuel trim.

The test that were not completed were

CAT, Catalyst Monitor
EVA, Evaporative Monitor
AIR, Air Pump Monitor
O2S, O2 Sensor Monitor
HTR, Heated Oxygen Sensor Monitor
EGR, EGR Monitor

It is my understanding that to complete these test, I will have to drive the car and reach some threashold driving conditions. So I have several questions on how to proceed.

1) What is the driving profile I will have to do. I have already performed these tests both cold and fully warmed up.

2) Can I simulate driving with rear end jacked up and wheels spinning.

3) Will the fact that the rear wheels are spinning and front ones are not cause confusion with the EPC and ABS systems and put the engine into limp home mode.

4) Does anyone have a way of faking out the EPC and ABS so the computer thinks that everything is fine.

Good luck with that,I can tell you my story from 2 years ago with a nice cl600/2001 that I bought with 30k miles for 25k,fresh water flood, not much,1 in above carpet,if that.I tought that for 3-5000$ I can make a car out of it,wholesale book was 50k at that time...it took 14000$ and was the same thing. The only mechanic who touched the car was some Est European guy who used to work for MB in Germany, turned out that you cannot even replace the seat motors/circuit boards,MB service had not info on that...they are not allowed to work on that, bad electrical on the seat means new seat from Germany and old one send back as a core...so,this guy stripped the car to rolling chassis in 2 days, electrical system on the ground next to the chassis and cleaned every contact, every piece for 10 full labor days, put everything back and still could not program the computer properly(I belive) because anything would trigger a fault, speed sensor on one wheel will bring the car back to limp mode, that cleared something else will arise, anyway, car was brought back to functional for a couple of hours and traded one hour later on a new Lexus,I dont know what those guys did with it...2000 and up 12cylinders are not made to have major/rebuild done by a independent, and dealer has limited authority to repair the car, mostly to diagnose and replace a part, not to take it apart.

I guess I have a bad attitude. My feeling is, if it was built by humans, I qualify.

Ok, answers to questions.

The driving profile is just a speed test, where the vehicle is in motion.

The idea about jacking it up and running it will cause the computer to trip out. The computer will get confused and throw all sorts of lights out at you, as it will detect the front wheels are not spinning while the rear ones are. While it wont throw it into limp home mode, it will cause the ESP/ABS/ADS systems to shut down, leaving you without those safety systems. But you should be able to reset those with the scanner you have.

As of right now, I dont have a positive way into faking the signal sent to the computer.
